Italianate is a large scale wallpaper mural, featuring a vista of classical buildings in stylised marquetry, with an intricate array of wood grains making up the architectural details.

The buildings depicted in Italianate are inspired by the eccentric architecture of Portmeirion Village, the ‘ideal village’ designed and constructed by Clough Williams-Ellis between 1925 and 1973 in North Wales.

The design brings together two long-standing Mini Moderns obsessions. Our interest in Portmeirion Village began in the 1980s, watching re-runs of the cult sixties TV show 'The Prisoner'. Meanwhile, the marquetry style of the design references the interior of the modernist masterpiece, Eltham Palace, which features a number of floor to ceiling marquetry panels.

One roll contains four individual panels (A,B,C & D) to make the full design. Further wall areas can be papered by repeating a new roll in the same order (A,B,C & D) until the required area is covered.

For panel layout and dimensions, see the image reference.
Full width of design is 208cm.

Depending on wall height, the panel may have to be reduced in size by trimming (top, bottom or both) to create your desired wallpaper scene.
