YELLOW HORNED POPPY SEEDS

Created in collaboration with Manchester Art Gallery, our range of seeds is inspired by the wild flowers of Dungeness, bringing its magical landscape to your own garden.

YELLOW HORNED POPPY (Glaucium flavum): “The golden-yellow flowers appear in June and are followed by the ‘horns’ - curling seedpods that can be up to 30cm long. If broken, the plant exudes a yellow sap which is poisonous.”

CULTIVATION: The seed can be sown in the spring or autumn in a cold frame. A period of of cold stratification improves germination. Once established, prick the seedlings out into individual pots and grow them on in a greenhouse for the first winter. Plant them out into their permanent positions in late spring or early summer.
