ROCK SAMPHIRE SEEDS
Created in collaboration with Manchester Art Gallery, our range of seeds is inspired by the wild flowers of Dungeness, bringing its magical landscape to your own garden.
ROCK SAMPHIRE (Crithmum maritimum): "The whole plant has 'a spicie taste with a certaine saltnesse' on which account it has been long held in great repute as an ingredient in salads. Cultivated in English gardens for its seed pods, which make a warm, aromatic pickle, and for its leaves, which are used in salads."
CULTIVATION: Sow seeds in autumn 1/4 inch deep in a warm border, or protect from the frost. Plants are best grown in moist salty soil or a very well-drained poor dry soil. When grown away from the coast, this plant requires a warm sheltered position and some protection in the cold winters.
Available in UK only.
